Figured I would treat myself to a b-day purchase, and just could not pass up getting Gangsters, Total Overdose, and E:MotBW-Allied Forces at those prices.

'Course, gonna be a while before I play any -- too busy being captivated by Terraria right now... :-)
Yay own all except for Gods will be watching, which i'm undecided about so i'll just wait till it is on a 50%+ off promo

Wish I had more restraint I would have saved quite a few dollars buying in this promo than when I did buy for some games. Then again I'm always happy for funds to get back to developers / publishers / GOG so that people can eat, new games are made and personal guilt at spending so much is alleviated :)

There are definitely a few games that are very tempting. 1954 Alcatraz, Tex Murphy, and maybe Expeditions: Conquistador. The first two are almost a sure bet, but I'm not entirely sure of the third.

Blackguards always looked interesting, but I know I'd probably hate playing it. There are enough frustrations in my daily life, so I don't really need to add to them in my entertainment. As I grow older I have less and less tolerance for "challenging" gameplay. I just want to have some fun. I'm also torn as usual about Dragon Commander. While everything else looks good about the game, the RTS bits just don't interest me in the slightest.

Dragon Commander is basically similar to Total War games so if you like those games then there is a big chance that you will like Dragon Commander to. But the big difference is that you have real politics involved in the game and also a real story.

For what it is worth, I really liked Expeditions: Conquistador. Good story and interesting mechanics. I was engaged the whole time. The combat is fun too. It is different than what I have been used to. The hexes open up more possibilities and there are some fun combos.
Does Age of Wonders 3 still have no drm-free multiplayer?

Example:
Multiplayer - Official Servers (requires account + key + open internet connection)
Multiplayer - Direct IP / Lan (is this even an option with the current state of the game? without using other software like hamachi)

From my understanding, the online component is only available online-drm at moment, and that there are no drm-free multiplayer built into the game client at moment.
Weird, thought I bought Blackguards a while ago. Oh well, that's remedied now! Just got done downloading the sucker. I'll be curious to see how different it plays from Expeditions Conquistador, especially since Blackguards + Untold Legends top out at around 20 gb, while Conquistador is 2.8 gb.

EC is apparently more traditional TBS, Blackguard has better graphics but lacks certain TBS staples (i think lack of flanking (bonuses?) was one thing missing. EC is closer to a traditional TBS than Blackguards (its also made by devs who usually make adventure games....) ...Have both games but played neither yet - just going on what i remember what was said .,
What's the difference between the standard Age of Wonders 3 and the deluxe version? I'm curious to know if the deluxe version includes the standard version as well or it's considered the totally different game with similar game mechanics.

The Deluxe version includes the soundtrack and a bonus scenario map.

Thanks. So does this mean it's better to buy the deluxe version then? The standard version is just for the cheaper price for someone who doesn't want the extra stuffs, isn't it?

Better/worse is really about whether you want the soundtrack, since in the long run the bonus scenario map won't make much of a difference.
