Maighstir: If we always knew what would happen in the future, we'd have avoided many mistakes in the past. Sadly, we cannot know the future.
I know I can't predict but sigh, I just think they shouldn't have made the same games for 60% the day after they went on sale for 50%. I feel like they should have excluded the overlapping games from one of the two sales.

falkos: :/ why the 60% off sale the day after a bunch of these were 50% off? I bought yesterday because the sale was ending; if I knew the same games I wanted were going to be 60% off the next day I would have waited.
No win situation for GOG. If they hadn't had a weekend promo, everyone would have complained because there's no promo. If they would have made it 50% off, everyone would have said, "we had those 50% off for weeks now; that's not a new promo"... Someone was going to be upset this weekend. Look on the bright side, it was only a 10% difference.

Yeah, I'm glad it's only a 10% difference, but I guess I'm just confused as to why they had a separate promo the day after for the same games but 10% more off. I don't think many people would've complained if there wasn't one considering the big summer sale just finished. The only reason I bought the games yesterday was because I did not think they would offer a separate sale so soon after and I definitely didn't think it would be more than the previous sale, I was thinking maybe like a 25% or 33% sale in a week or two at the earliest. I think it's kind of silly to offer another sale at a larger discount the day after the humongous summer sale. As far as I know, all these games were half off the day before.

You must not have been around here after the Christmas sale. There was no promo that weekend, and, yes, a lot of people complained. Heck, if you were paying attention during the Summer sale, people were complaining that 50% off wasn't nearly enough of a discount. Like I said, no win situation for GOG.

Wow :/ you're right, I wasn't. That's no good.

LOL, you obviously haven't been here long if you don't think many people would have complained if there was no Friday sale. Half the site would have done, and GOG knows that.

As far as the 60 percent off, that's pretty normal for a Friday sale -- and like sales anywhere, one ends another starts.

Just think of it this way, this time you lost out -- next time you probably won't. As my grandma used to say, it all evens out in the wash :)

EDIT:

Oh and I'm thrilled with Friday's sale. I'd already thrown the first two Simon the Sorcerer games in my shopping basket during the Summer Sale and then forgot to pay for them. That means I actually SAVED $1.20 by getting them in the Friday sale instead

On top of that, god knows where I've been as I had no clue that GOG sold Ishar. Have always wanted to play it, so I added that as well. 3 games for $7.17. Even better than the Summer Sale :)

Time to get Broken Sword 4, thanks GOG! :)
This sale is tempting, but I swore to myself, that I won't buy any more games until my backlog loses some weight. The only way to break that promise is to sacrifice a virgin goat to Cthulhu.
And I'm all out of goats.

Did you know...

Targhan is in Ishar. If you don't know Targhan, he has his very own video game, it's called Targhan.

Targhan is pretty cool, he's a barbarian that wears fur underpants.
Interesting promo but I am in no rush for Tex Murphy and something tells me I might be disappointed if I buy them. I'd probably better wait for the new installment to come and play it before looking at the old ones.
I own Gobliiins pack and the Broken Sword series. I've finished them all with one exception: BS4. After a huge disappointment with BS3 (If I had ever wanted to play Sokoban I would have played Sokoban!) I'm literally afraid to start playing it.

Nothing else seems interesting enough to get it now. Later... perhaps... we will see...
I didn't buy any games at 50% off in the summer sale as i knew eventually they will be on sale at a higher discount.

Tranquil.Suit: The Feeble Files. Should I get it? I read the reviews. Still in doubt. Gimme some opinions.
You never like anything. So I doubt it you should get it.
