I installed patch 1 awhile ago. Decided to wait for further patches until playing further.

The GOG downloader never notified me if Wasteland 2 has a new patch available. I have to manually go into my account, click on the game, and see what new patches are released.

Now I see patch 3 and 3.1 along with game version 2.4. There is no option to download patch 2.x. Downloading the entire game again. I don't understand why the full version download is not updated to 3.1.

Regret choosing GOG instead of Steam for this game. DRM-free is not worth the hassle of having to manually look and install patches for new game releases.

as well as the mess they made its not the fault of gog wasteland 2's developer made sucha mess of patching

How is it inXile's responsibility? They provide the game build and the patches to GOG. They have no control over whether or not GOG's update notifications for the game are working. Nor do they have control over whether or not GOG keeps the older patches available.

Sure, they could do cumulative patching so you could apply the latest patch to any build of the game, but since they didn't go that route, GOG should have realized they need to keep the older patches available. IMO, little of the blame for this falls on inXile.
