So I just discovered this site called Guvera a few minutes ago & it claims to be a legal alternative to those illegal download sites (& for what it is worth *which is not much*, wikipedia seems to confirm that it is in fact legit as they have deals with some record companies so that the artists get paid through ads & whatnot). I haven't actually tried it out yet, but it might be worth looking into for some music lovers on here.

Roberttitus: it might be worth looking into
It sure looked like, but I got a friendly 'Unfortunately Guvera is not available in your country yet.' greeting upon trying to register :/
Speaking of free legal music, there's also site called Jamendo.
http://www.jamendo.com/
It doesn't have any known musicians, but you can get a lot of music there, I got some Psy Trance from there and I enjoy it very much.

Did you just say PsyTrance? AWESOME! :D Thankyou fexen
Why does it have to be free?

Obviously, the composer of a good song should get some kind of compensation.

I'd settle for affordable.

From the site I mentioned, they do get compensation.
Thanks for the tip, I hate downloading songs illegally anyways (Beemp3, I'm looking at you.).
Well, the fact is: if I want music, I download it on eMule/BitTorrent. Then, if Iike it, I buy the hell out of it (special edition CDs, vinyls, DVD with videos etc.). Even if it's freely available on the 'net

Arrrrhh! :-P
