If the free game for the 100th release on GOG.com wasn't enough of surprise for you, we're giving you a sneak peek at our new feature - Virtual Game Shelf 2.0
From time to time, Destro is tossing some info about the upcoming "Update 2", but it seems we'll see a cool, new feature before the big update will launch. GOG.com's Design&Development Team is proud to give you the first look at brand new [url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/30112304@N03/3404345660/sizes/o/]Virtual Game Shelf in version 2.0. Now your shelf will get covered in dust and litter with trash, the games you play the most will get your fingerprints on their boxes and if you won't look after your shelf, spiders will spin their webs. Luckily you'll have an anti-dust spray to keep everything fresh and clean and you'll be able to add a personal touch by placing your favourite action figure or a teddy bear from your girlfriend. Check out the screenshot here!

FREAK system, or Fully Realistic Environment and Killing system, does away with archaic save/load mechanics. If you die, the game will cease to work. So don’t die.

Sweet! It's the one feature i've been looking for in a game. Finally, the ultimate immershun factor. Buying this for sure! How much will it cost?
But wait, shame on you CD Projekt for not specifying what handheld it'll be made on. Will it be the Virtualboy? Or Gameboy?

klaymen: OMG, GoodOldPorn.com? Maybe a new site? :P

michaelleung: Dunno, there's just something odd about wanking to 30-year old pornos...

"Oh my god....is that Grandma??!?!?!"
Gotta be April fools.. hehe, though I do think this is a cool idea!
This isn't a half bad idea actually.
Goddamn april fools.
I also request an option to see games just haphazardly strewn across a virtual bedroom floor, for those of us that are too lazy to clean up. If you don't play your games enough you eventually lose the box, manual and maybe the disc gets lost under the bed somewhere, never to be seen again until you move.
loved! can u do that for real? post it again tomorrow! =)

Incredible.
I once lost Gunstar Heroes to a move. :(

I would love that.
I only want the new shelves I we can enjoy a PC port of The Witcher: Mysterious Secrets.
It didn't seem too wacky to be a joke but since it's the first, I guess it is a joke. Shame. I really would have liked to put some games boxes so I can only see their spines instead of the full front of the box. =(
Urgh, I totally fell for it. This got me pretty excited, to say the least.
After finding out the truth, I tried to calm myself down.
I figured, hey, I'd probably like my game shelf clean, anyway. RIGHT?

Nice joke. An even better one would have been to change the shelf skin to filth and spiders on the sly and make no announcement of any kind. :)
You could create an entire little minigame with the shelf. Smash the spiders. Every 500 spiders you get +1 rep point. The said thing is if you did that I bet people would play it just for the rep.
That is very cool.

eznark: I actually wish this wasn't an April Fools joke. Looks pretty cool.

Aww man. I didn't even think of that. Crap crap crap. D:

michaelleung: You're funny.
To anyone who thought this was real, you're an idiot.

:(
In my defense, it was the first April Fool's Day joke that I actually bought today.
I do, however, seriously wish that we were really getting epic mounts in Quake Live.

I actually wouldn't mind this being real...
