Eh, I find people complaining about reviews scoring things too high and that a 5/10 should be considered average because it's in the middle silly.
A 10 out of 10 suggests that there's nothing major wrong with it.
A 1 out of 10 suggests that there's nothing right about it.
A 5 out of 10 suggests there's equal amounts of good and bad.
I imagine most people would consider an "average" game is something that doesn't have any glaring faults but doesn't really do anything new. Which isn't what a 5/10 represents. Probably about a point or two higher honestly.
And no one really plays or cares about the scores of the garbage that actually deserves low scores like say Spectral Force Genesis, gamers are a bit spoiled and only play the top 10-20% of games at most and consider some of the best titles to be merely "average". >_>
