Steam is horribly expensive for Germans as I've noticed.
I'm pretty sure that because of this most people here rely on bundles or other services like GoG.

bansama: That is, you'll not be seeing any submissions from Japanese developers who have yet to pay the Greenlight submission fee. This is because yesterday Valve forced yen pricing on us, but like everything they do in Japan, they completely buggered it up.

We lost several hundred games yesterday as no one set yen pricing for them. Most notably ones from Codemasters, Square Enix, and even Valve themselves. Among them, the Greenlight submission fee.

People tried contacting Steam support about it and were basically told to post on the forum as that's where Greenlight support is given U_U.

So yeah, chances of seeing any new Japanese games on Greenlight is currently zero.
And I was hoping for some Japanese indie dev to make a fixed camara survival horror like Siren and Silent Hill or Galerians.

Getcomposted: And the UK seems to be priciest of all?
EU is generally more costly than UK, UK's usually a little above the US (except some rare cases where they actually 1:1 $ vs pounds)
Australia is most expensive I guess, not sure how the introduction of AUD will affect them.

Pheace: Considering shortly after the trading scene was getting flooded with copies of AC:FC being sold for 1 TF2 key (~$2) I'm fairly sure it worked for some people.
It didn't. These people may find they accidentally paid far more than they think they did. It was not very clear the price had been corrected at that stage. I only noticed as I was using wallet funds.

Neobr10: It has nothing to do with that. Even consoles aren't doing well in Japan.
Well, blame Gojira then, want do you want from me? Here's a nickel, kid. Go buy yourself something nice.

;p

blotunga: ^This. Only russians seem to see any advantage of it.
I see advantages in it too.

mangamuscle: This is NEVER going to happen since most of valve's revenues come from selling their own games (google which titles are steam's best sellers), this is the exact same situation when M$ kicked indies out of the xbox360, it is a market they really do not care for.
Honestly most of Valve's games i found i really didn't care that much for. Sure they were good, or okay... Portal 1-2 were by far the only ones i really actually ever wanted ever since i heard about them, but the rest is...Meh...
