I have just installed from Cog.com Tomb Raider 1. Is it possible to to use a mouse to control the charachters i this game.

Or do I need some sort of hand held controller. I am using a laptop.

Thanks for any replies.

AFAIK no. So you can play with KB or controller.
Yeah, I believe you can use KB. But wouldn't it have been wiser to ask before you bought the game? O_o

As far as I remember this is a dos-era game right?
I have played it years ago as a small child and I remember it used the directional keys
for movement and ctrl/alt/ins/space/enter etc for other actons.
It was not difficult to control Lara with the keyboard.
the old tomb raiders control best just with keyboard. I don't even think you can use a mouse. Controller works too but i prefer keyboard for tomb raider 1-6
I vaguely remember TR1... i don't remember the mouse being an option.

A controller might work, although having keys remapped from controller to keyboard is probably your best bet...
No mouse, sorry :(

I prefer using a controller (played a lot of psx as a lad). To achieve this, I use Joy2Key and disable the gamepad under the dosconf file (because the game might detect some buttons and do whatever it pleases when jumping, for example).
just use Windows on-screen keyboard, problem solved!

NEXT.

I... guess... that... technically.... works....
The classic Tomb Raider games (1-5) are play best with keyboard or a gamepad with a very good D-pad like the Playstation controller.
It may be possible to use 3rd party software to shoehorn mousesupport into Tomb Raider but I honestly think it isn't worth the effort to set it all up and just use a digital gamepad or learn to play it with the keyboard.
