Hey. Does GOG ever announce or advise the community of planned upcoming releases? I've downloaded my "must have" games already, there is a number of "want to play again games" that I've yet to purchase. I'm sure I'll get there. That being said, the number of games that I can actually see myself wanting to pay for and play is dwindling.

There are so many games not on this service that I and likely all of you would love to see come to GOG. Is there ever any transparency about what is in the works? Are the challenges faced by GOG always about getting "new" publishers on board w/ allowing GOG to re-sale their old catalogue?

I'd love to see Thief 1 + 2 on here. I'd love to see they System Shock games on here. I'm sure we could go on forever listing off titles.

Considering how long I've been hearing of GOG and how great it is (gamers w/ jobs conference call podcast) I do find myself kind of surprised at the limited catalogue.

Anyhow, that's about enough of my thinking out loud.
Occasionally GOG will announce upcoming games, but most releases don't get advance warning. The last announcement was for the Age of Wonders series a few months ago.
I think the surprise releases generate more buzz and media attention. If they announced Thief 2 was coming Kotaku and similar outlets might report briefly on the announcement and then never mention it again. If you just launch Thief 2 out of nowhere then Kotaku reports "OMG THIEF 2 SURPRISE RELEASE AVAILABLE NOW!"

It is somewhat frustrating though as we wait and wait and wait for the next big release, wondering all the while if it will be some ancient sports game no one gives a shit about or a real classic.
They used to have a bit for coming soon games, I think they got rid of it when they came out of the beta.

It was rarely kept up to date as they would just suprize us with otherstuff

A lot of the games you and others want come from publishers that aren't signed yet. GOG is working on it, if they sign EA expect a rash of awesomeness (including the Thief games you mentioned).
If EA gets signed, I'll have a heart attack.

How many would have said the same thing about the Hasbro stuff?

None of the regulars, as far as I know, and we probably wouldn't notice if a couple of the others went "missing".

With Uruk around it has to be accepted that every now and again there will be one or two that won't be returning.
