I'm just trying to uninstall a few games and have received the following error message.

I've done loads of online research and there isn't a difinitive solution. There are some suggestions which I've tried but none have worked. Incidentally, I can't be sure but I think it may have occurred after a system restore.

Specs:
Win7 x 64
i5-460m cpu
8gb ram
Nvidia GT-420m
Game folders: C:\Games\GOG or C:\Games\GG

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Just to throw something out there, maybe you could install the game again and then uninstall it?
Perhaps your system restore removed something that the installer still needed.
There are also applications that help you remove the game from your add/remove programs list, but then you need to remove the files and possibly the remaining registry entries yourself.
Like I said, just spitballing.

I know it's not good practice but if I were to manually deleted the game folder and then run a registry clean up (such as ccleaner), would that have other implications?

It's impossible to say with 100% accuracy, but most likely not.
I've done it tons of times without problem, although I never bother with registry cleaners.

Ok - I'm going to give this a shot. I use ccleaner as I don't know my way around the registry, so am paranoid about deleting something I shouldn't.

So, I first delete the game folders in my C:\Games directory. Then run ccleaner. Is there any other places I should check?

Not really I think, the temp folder(s) shouldn't contain anything that really takes up space.
And you can use something like MyUninstaller to remove the entry from add/remove programs if ccleaner doesn't do that.

There are 2 prgs I recommend for uninstalling: Revo Uninstaler (free version exists) or Total Uninstall (30 days trial version). Used both multiple times. They will do better job than just deleting files.
