Oh man, I forgot about this game...so.want.now!!!!

I couldn't find anything on the release date, is there any word anywhere if they have one schedule, or an approximation at least?

Kolzig: I heard about this game back in 2010 when sites like Rock Paper Shotgun did an article about it.

I was very much interested in it and it was supposed to be released in 2010, but I think it never was? When searching the net I too found out that the devs claim that the Newcomer/Enhanced Newcomer was released, but no other sites in the net have any reviews or further articles about it. Also you can't buy the Enhanced version anymore.

Now the devs are saying that they are making some "Ultimate Newcomer" version.

I have a feeling that it's all just a hoax, but I'll eat my words if this Ultimate Newcomer game ever actually comes out.
But you can download the enhanced version, rev. 2, for free here:

I don't think that's illegal, or am I wrong?

Crosmando: Their was an update on the 17th of last month saying their still alive and working to get it released. Delay was apparently due to buggy old c64 code:

They are releasing it for Windows, running through an emulator

Except when I try to extract those three files, WinRAR says unexpected end of archive on all three.

Ok, now I got, I had to use 7-Zip. :-D

Glad to hear, have fun then! :) I still hope the ultimate version will arrive some day in the near future. I would buy it right away. :)

It looks like this project is dead.

http://newcomer.hu is down. EDIT: AND IT'S BACK!! But still...


The Facebook page had a post somewhat recently where the guy says they ran out of memory an there's on person that can fix it.

Maybe release it as a C128 game instead on emulator?

The emulator crowd would far outweigh the people running this on a real C64 anyway.
