Hey we're in the same timezone and I use this place as an alternative for having a life...

kennethkully: Not that this is necessarily common knowledge in all fora.

pops117: And here I thought one couldn't make this place any more classy. First time I see someone using the real plural form of forum on a forum. I hope you stick around :P
I'll make an effort. Heck, if GOG supported group formation (a la Steam), I'd be tempted to set up an Ultima-specific group and haunt it all day.

prakaa: as a newbie to the Ultima series, how can i get the game to work on a modern system? via DOSBOX? Because i didn't see an exe..
Alias nailed it...should be a file with a ".com" extension.

And it should run just fine under DOSBox. Or you can use xu4 (I dropped a link earlier on) which is basically an...engine, I guess, would be the right word...that uses the U4 data files and runs on most modern OSs.

kennethkully: Ultima 6 was almost like that, at least in that there wasn't really an end boss to be dealt with, just a final quest which culminated in the reading of a book.

You could still pass it if you weren't virtuous, though. That bit was different.
Yes, following the virtues is only must in the Ultima 4. I never thought the system was that well implemented in the other games. But in the fan made remakes there's some consequences from sealing and what not.

Planescape Torment is another game, in which you don't have to kill the end boss for a good ending, though you can do that if you want.
