Misterjams: I got the free stand-alone version of Ultima 4, then bought the Ultima 4-5-6 package. Finished Ultima 4 and fired up Ultima 5 from the 4-5-6 package and tried to transfer my character from U4, but all I got was a black-screen lock up.

Are characters transferrable? Is there a special trick I need to do? I'd hate to lose all of that work, even though U4 was a lot of fun.
This is broken at the moment; we believe that we have a fix for it, but there are a lot more things of higher priority for our build team, so it will be a while before we update the installer. In the meantime, the thread that JMich links to is more or less the manual version of our fix anyway.
