Hi I am thinking of buying Ultima 1,2,3 on GOG.

My questions are...

Will it run on my comptuter fine with gog?

Where do I get the maps to play this game? I get lost going outside. I am very bad without automap in the game?

Which Ultima should I start with?

Do you enjoy the game?

Also, Does ultima Underworld 1 and 2 have auto map in the game?

Thanks

1) Should run just fine on any computer, since they use DosBox. You might need to do some DosBox tweaking, but in general GoG games are pretty reliable.

2) I just got Ultima Underworld 1+2, and yes, there is an automap, although it's an inventory item, not a little window in the corner of your screen. Be aware, though, that the games are a little...hard to get into. Very archaic by modern standards.
Running - DOSBox works nicely, and GoG guys set it to run ridiculously slow for those releases.
Maps - The originals came with cloth maps. Look up HRUMP - High Resolution Ultima Maps Project. Might be even better scans that the ones in the GoG package.

If you want to test whether or not you will like the general style, try the free Ultima 4. Then imagine the same game with less polish and more killing.
