and distracted right now by other games and other interests right like reading
if it makes you feel better I bought Dragon Age Origins on PC and planing on getting Battlefield 3 and The Witcher 2 for PC

I'm 26 and I've played about a billion games, but never finished any of them. well maybe a few.

anyways, as far as ultima goes, i wouldnt buy the first 3 becuase ultima 4 is free, and its much better by far. i might buy 4 5 and 6 merely for ultima 6, but after playing the crap game that is savage frontier, i have to say that i'll probably pass on anything below 7. and 9 too, i heard 9 was terrible.

I actually own all 3 current gen consoles... mostly for exclusives (and assassins creed I get my creed on the xbox....) but back then yeah heretic.. computer gaming(Amiga counts!) ruled till this gen when devs kinda got lazy...

Perhaps it's a Good Old Game, by chance? ;) No, I understand some graphics just will not hold up over 25 years time. But at this site, one should should be prepared to sacrifice (ohhai Licurg) graphics for other fun things.

Never play any of them, so, what is the charm(s) of Ultima that made people love the series so much?

their addictive, and suck you into their little worlds the more time you spend playing them! you'll find yourself wanting to gain just a little more gold and end up playing longer then you wanted!

Addictive games are.... subjective. I remember so many people clamoring upon Fallout 3 as a great game but I was quite disappointed with it. 12 hours wasted.

hey i'm with you, fallout 3 sucked horribly. how about this, if you want to know for sure, download ultima 4 for free here on gog, they all play pretty much like that. the graphics aren't as good, but otherwise you'll know what your getting into!
