You had me at Sanitarium.

I recently got laid off from my job. I've got a lot more free time, and a lot less money than usual. I stumbled across a ref to GoG today, and decided to try it out. Sanitarium was one of my favorite adventure games ever., and it was on sale for $5!!! The d/l and installation was problem-free (but hella slow), and the game is running flawlessly. I consider it an X-mas present to myself.

I hope you all have a great (insert holiday)! You have mos def made mine better.
welcome to the forums and glad to hear you enjoyed the game

hope you find a new job soon

also look out for the Christmas sales soon, more cheap games are on the way :)
Nice to hear and welcome to GOG. You will find that if you are a game enthusiast, having little money to spend is not a boon here at gog. Most of us have quite literally put hundreds into the service. I'm not saying we're regretting it, of course. :)

About he DL speed, I guess some people are having problems downloading some games, and I just can't pinpoint the problem, since all my test downloads are at max speed. But ok, if you have time, it gets done in either case.

$568 for me, assuming an average cost of $8 per title (not accurate but a fair halfway point between the $6 and $10 marks) spread over 74 titles, including the 3 freebies..

Ahh then again I've won constests too, might be closter to $520-$530

$600 for me, and that doesn't include the games I've gifted to other people (though that is counteracted by the contests won / gifts received).
Welcome! I love this place because it serves the same purpose $10 racks used to at office supply places, allowing you to pick up old games on a whim :D

I think the slow d/l was on my end. I'm on a cruddy wi-fi connection that usually averages about 50k. Next game, I'll just start the d/l when I go to bed, and wake up to a new game in the morning. :)
