I bought and downloaded Botanicula and the downloader seemed to have installed it. However, there's no launch icon on my desktop and I can't find the game in any subdirectory. Where would I find it?

Thanks

The default folder would be ~\Users\"yourname"\\My Documents\GOG.com Downloads". I had to look for it, too, at first.

It doesn't sound like you've actually installed the game because it would certainly put a shortcut on your desktop and in your start menu.

I don't have that game, and my O.S. is in Spanish, so I'm just guessing how it should be in English:

- Look in Start -> Programs -> GOG.com; or
- Look in Start -> Programs -> Games

If the game is not there and you have Windows 7 (or Vista), type in the Start Menu -> Search Programs and Files: "botanicula".

If you can't find anything, check if it was really installed in the Control Panel -> Programs installed (or in uninstall programs). If it's not there, then the game is not installed and you need to execute the installer (wherever it is) to install the game.

The downloader itself doesn't put the game on your computer. did you click "install" off the downloader after it pulled the whole file in? Otherwise, what you have is that the install and setup files are still in the downloader, and haven't yet transferred.

**blush** the voice of experience talking - took me an hour to figure it out the first time I used the downloader.

As others have said, unless you actually got an install screen, where you can chose the path where it would install the game, I think what you saw was a compiler, putting together all the various blocks of data that the GOG downloader downloaded.

If it's not where others have suggested then you can find out where it was put using the search function of your OS, just look for files created within the last day.
