Don't care if I dont have to play another tower defence game ever again. Having said that, will need to check out Trenched/Iron Brigade soon.

It doesn't play like your average Tower Defense game. There's a lot of moving and shooting yourself. And of course in multiplayer team positional strategy is key.

Ah! It seems I've stumbled upon at least one person who's actually played this game. Good, good.
I got Trenched/Iron Brigade, the day it was actually released as I'm generally a sucker for World War 1 or WW1 like things/stuffs. I enjoyed it, a interesting take on Tower Defense for sure. That said, I found the first boss nearly impossible. It could have been due to poor strategic choices though. That said, it infuriated me to the point I just set it aside and completely forgot about it for, well, moons, and moons.
Now I see they have DLC, and people seem to be more into it than they were previously. So, I may have to go back and see if I can finally beat that stupid boss and actually continue the game. :/

You need an artillery cannon (so take an assault trench) and the quickreload legs. These legs bury you in the ground when you use them and that sucking thing he does cannot move and damage you. You also reload your cannon faster. After every cut scene it unroots you. Hit A to root/unroot (that is how all leg abilities are activated).
Lastly, I think you can even buy the Karlson by then (whichever is the assault trench with the mount so you can take a Repair Crane in). The boss blasts all your turrets, but you can hide a repair crane behind the tree (behind your spawn point) and root yourself next to it.
I can't recall when I used for the ads on my non cannon side, probably shotguns or grenades.
Yeah it's nigh on impossible if you don't use the legs. The repair crane probably isn't strictly necessary if you don't miss any shots.
If it makes you feel any better when you gold medal it you'll go in with level 10 machine guns and he dies in about 25 seconds:)

Anyone having problems with this on PC here's a FAQ: http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewthread/7466/
NOTE: The newest AMD/ATI drivers do not seem to work with Firefox (seriously, fuck Firefox), so turn off hardware acceleration, unless you like your browser to crash on every other page load.
I've had serious stuttering issues, even in single player after I'd done everything they recommended on that page. I was able to launch without Steam (from the exe in the directory) and so far that seems to work (you lose your Steam overlay, but since Steam is useless for it anyway, since it's GfWL, who cares?). Plus that way I can run with 4xAA!
