I've been munching over in an idea for a while. Possibly it is retarded, stupid and asinine. all of these together.

I have a few cds lying around, bought a while ago (Descent trilogy, for instance), sans boxes, just the CD cases with the labels perfectly intact and a few others.

I was wondering if there's anyone out there willing to serve as a home to my CDs, that I'd send, and they'd gift me a GoG copy of the game.

Any chance of that happening? I've lost the will to keep physical copies around, because there's the time you must let some things go, and CDs are one of them. Sure, I could rip them and keep them in an external drive, but that would not be GoG.

I'd even give them away to GoG, if GoG could convert them to digital downloads and give the physical games away for charity. :)

It's a dumb idea, right? Thought so.
I'm no prostitute, good sir.
Hmm, only CDs are a bit worthless. If they were fully boxed perhaps, although they still would be worn and well, not new and sealed, meaning no joy in the unboxing.

New and sealed copy of 1999 game would be worth ten times of GOG's value, for collectors...
Trading them would make no freaking sense.
Yeah, thought this would be dumb. Well, I've got a pristine boxed copy of AoW2, if that counts.

Don't be too hard on yourself. If I had some extra money left I'd actually consider this kind of deal especially since I have hundreds of retail games lying around and don't plan on throwing them away (rather expanding my collection).
Have you tried selling them on eBay? If you're lucky, you may earn money for few GOGs...
Outside US/UK, eBay is not that much of a good deal to sell, mostly because of ravenous posting fees. I'd actually prefer to trade them, for some reason.
Oh, well, I've got the warm feeling of supporting the devs when they asked for it. :p
