Any possibility these games will be added? Tie Fighter and X-Wing? Also, what about X-Com UFO Defense and that series of games? Good stuff there, might not be able to get them because they're available on Steam though.
GOG would have to sign up LucasArts and Microprose Systems respectively for the games listed. Probably others since rights holders are rarely so straightforward.

Steam availability does not necessarily mean it's forbidden to sell these games on other sites. Unless of course it's a SteamWorks game. Older games are not.

You should be patient, since GOG is a quality site for upgrading and selling these games and I think most developers/publishers will get on board sooner or later. The smart ones anyway.
If you have the disks then try just using the patch below

http://www.lucasfiles.com/index.php?file=653

EDIT: I run 64 bit Windows 7 and this patch works for me

And if you don't own the disks
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/STAR-WARS-X-WING-COLLECTOR-SERIES-PC-/110763429618?pt=UK_PC_Video_Games_Video_Games_JS&hash=item19ca03cef2

(But still I dream myself for the day these games come here :P )

It's a matter of licensing, X-Wing is supported by DOSBox, so I doubt very much that they would have any trouble getting it to run. I myself got the disk version to run a while back, but haven't gotten around to recovering that one file that was corrupted.
I did a thread on getting x-wing / Tie-fighter working on 64 bit machines a while back - nothing special, just links to various sites to show how its done...

This Thread

DosBox is acknowledged as better as it gets the music right (changes dependant on what is happening on screen), but the windows versions have the improved graphics....

If the links help just one person rediscover / discover these fine fine games, I'm happy...
Anyway, the X-COM series are also available on Gamersgate, so they could obvioulsy come to GOG too

Lucasarts games are a vastly different issue. LA has a somehow schizophrenic approach to its older games. They do not offer any support anymore ( and are even quite offensive to their customers of, for instance, you happen to contact them to see if there is any solution to a defficient CD , for instance ) , yet will not accept any revival outside of deeply protected systems ( read : steam + drm ) . Result : the best star wars game are currently out of print.

Do you have any idea how long it takes to rewrite a game for which you don't have the source code? I assure you that they're working as fast as possible and the games will be rereleased when they've managed to figure out how to get Ewoks, Jar Jar and fully realize George Lucas' vision for how the game should have been released originally.

X-COM is owned by 2K Games now, not Microprose. I'm also hoping to see it here but I may end up breaking down and getting it from Steam. I'm not sure how likely a deal with 2K is. But since I have other stuff to play in the meantime, I'll hold off for now just in case it shows up here.

Right, my bad. Don't know why I thought they just licensed the name and setting.

How saracstic you are. Jar Jar in XWING the whole gameplay would ruin.

A bit like the transition from "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe" ( primitive graphic models but really interesting to play ) to secret weapons over Normandy ( nice garphics but boring and totally out of context ). I "can't" wait. Or, like the transition from the initial SW trilogy to the comics/soap I don't ( and do not want to ) remember the name

I'm lucky to have the CD WIN95 version of TIE fighter. Works very well provided you apply the trick refered to above.
