Starkrun: They plan to reboot "ReBoot" as well.... 100,000,000 Bonus points for ANYONE who remembers ReBoot!
That show was wierd, it started off kind of weak, then the last couple seasons got super hardcore. (for its time)

After the kid came back from the net with his girlfriend and dog that got AWESOME.

Also, Bit and Byte were CLASSIC.

Why would they reboot ReBoot?

While I do certainly "get" that this could totally suck, I would like to point out some of the BRILLIANT "new school" cartoons. (I dunno, Wolverine and the Xmen, Avengers:EMH, Venture Bros, some of the new Batman series, JLA, etc)

I loved the OG Thundercats (Right up there with Visonaries, and GI Joe), this could be awesome, or it could be horrible kiddified trash, dont know until we see more.

I dont get why the interwebs auto default is "haters gonna hate"......
I am all for reboots (Batman Beyond was phenomenal), I just think they're rebooting a show that was horrible to begin with.

Damn, I loved that show. Just read that they're releasing it on DVD in March. Sadly for me, only R1 at present. Smeggit...

As for the new ThunderCats... I'm actually quite interested. I absolutely loved that show as a kid, and have the entire series on DVD (okay... it hasn't aged that well, but damn parts of it still give me goosebumps). So I'm gonna be interested at how this pans out.

I suppose I'm kinda hoping that if this cartoon is a success, Warner will pull its finger out and release the complete original ThunderCats soundtrack. Here's hoping...

So yes. Kinda looking forward to it, and hoping I won't be disappointed.
Reboot was awesome and My Two Bobs has been in my Netflix queue since they put it up (they've never released it there, or at all afaik).
i only watched the show because i thought Mumm-Ra was cool.
Anyone remember Thunderforce?

I think at one point or another they will be rebooting a lot of 70's or 80's shows.

I just hope they don't mess it up like they did Transformers. I know the art styles are changing but these childish drawn characters should not be the norm. I'm beginning to think that the art of hand drawing is being lost to the computer drawned characters.

Personally, I'm just pissed that they seem to be moving away from what was originally teased for the new show. It was supposed to be a darker, edgier Thundercats with no Snarf, targeted at teens and young adults (plus the nostalgia crowd); now it looks like a fun happy show, with Snarf, for the pre-teen set.

No, but I remember each of those cartoons: Silverhawks, Thundercats and Tigersharks. Same basic formula, three different settings, all cool shows.

THIS.

Still, I blame the power rangers for changing kids expectations into violent stupid worthless shows. Before that somehow the cartoons had a bit more intellect.
You really have to wonder.

Just when did the dumbing and numbing down of animation and comics happen? The Mentalist, Lie to Me, and one other TV drama show are just getting back to days of Columbo and other thinking type of fun action shows. Animation has been really hard for me to understand lately. Take the Pink Panther for example. Now that was classic slap stick antics that I feel is timeless. Now the new or updated version feels it is aimed directly at teenie bobbers who are clueless to know what is funny. The original Pink Panther could be enjoyed by all. Including the other characters. Now I feel like this show has taken a side.

I've also heard that some cartoons have been edited? Scenes have been cut to make them more political correct to watch??

Maybe I am old and just ranting like my generation before me.

Well seeing some of the original episodes of Tom and Jerry or some old Disney stuff can be pretty shocking to people in some areas of the world. Weirdly I found that sort of animation seemingly considered normal still in some first world parts of Europe.
Power Rangers season one was awesome.. i met Austin St. John in a sit down pizza joint and he scruffed my hair and told me pizza is good, eat it every day and drink coke-a-cola!

The mother F***ING Red Rainger talked to me!
