DCT: If there using the 3dfx version then you need a 3dfx wrapper then they need to us a DOSbox variant similar to the one they used for Tomb Raider 1 in the Tomb Raider 1+2+3 set, and you need to play with the setting to find the optimal settings to play the game and make sure it runs on all the test machines and all that not to mention having to play and test any other releases.
Fred_DM: unless this game just happens to be unusually difficult to get to run right it shouldn't actually take that long. thanks to DOSBOX and Glide wrappers old games can be made compatible with modern systems in a few minutes. then it's just a matter of experimenting with the (rather limited) CPU and graphics settings.
i do it all the time with games that aren't on GOG, and i don't know anything about the deeper workings of DOSBOX. so how hard could it be?
Yeah because getting it to run on one machine is the same as making sure it runs on multiple machines and setups..
Look you rather have it now and have it work on half or even less then half of peoples machines or would you rather have something that should work on at least the majority of users machines?
Thought so.
Oh wait I forgot this is the internet and "people" will still find something to complain about like there some sort of expert on the subject....
