Navagon: You can format and reinstall without hassle? Only I know that not all software is like that. If you get the student version of some programs, they will check.

kavazovangel: About 2, just install games in C:\Games or in some similar place, outside of Program Files. Older games have problems with PF because now writing to system-wide folders requires admin rights...

... and sometimes devs developing new games don't give a shit about security / privacy, so they again overlook that requirement.
Seconded - if there was a way to make this comment stand out more I would do it!
ALWAYS install games in w7 in C:\Games or similar and ensure that all users have "Full Control" permissions on this folder. Older games especially require this as they are used to having the required permissions to write anything they want in their folders.
