An easy fix...I use windows 7 x64 and I got thief freeze every time. The solution: open task manager, goto process tab, right click on Thief process, click set affinity, and put only 1 core on thief. Problem solved and never freeze or anything like that. I actually played the GG version which is not suppose to work with windows 7. Hope that helps!

gompat, I highly recommend you to use TGFix (get it here). It fixes that multicore issue among many other things, and it's very easy to install.
