Well, this is exciting stuff, quite the wrap-up of previous The Witcher 3 presentations. I'm glad I preordered it from here months ago. Will surely have a blast.

Crosmando: Don't think my computer could run this
Thats the unfortunate curse of modern video games. New hardware is always essential.

A hint from me: Only buy new hardware every 4 years. Save up money worth to 15-20 USD (Are Australian Dollars kinda equal compared to USD? I don't quite know as I'm no expert in exchange rate galore!) every month and when you're ready, just spend all of it on new hardware. It's important to set a timeline on these things and 15 USD isn't much. It's all about patience.

I do this and I'm pretty sure my PC can handle this game on medium settings at least.

I assume that if you can run The Witcher 1 fine you can handle The Witcher 3 on at least the lower settings just fine. And 4 years is enough to buy at least another generaltion of microchip technology.
Finally some decent looking game.

micktiegs_8: Seems my top comment of 'CDPR>>>>>EA' Got buried LOL.
It was in reply to someone say 'graphics DA>>>>>Witcher' Which also got buried.

Seems like opinion on YouTube is not appreciated... who'da thought? :3

CharlesGrey: Newsflash: No one cares about youtube comments anyway. At least no one with at least half a functional brain. If you want to discuss the video(s) and the game, this is a much better place for doing so.

As for the graphics, they were talking about the new Dragon Age or something? Really, who cares if game A has slightly higher resolution textures than game B, or some new fancy-pants effects which the other game doesn't have. All "next gen" ( current gen? ... new gen? ) games look really "pretty" anyway, that's a given. But I think we can safely say that in the case of TW3 there's much more substance to it, at least if it's anything like its prequels, and it's not just a shiny façade with nothing behind it. Does anyone even get REALLY excited about graphics any more? It seems the quality jumps between hardware generations are no longer as dramatic as they used to be, some 10 to 15 years ago.
Wow, it seems you totally misread the comment. But I suppose trying to convey sarcasm on a text forum was a given, huh?

I don't know? But maybe you misinterpreted mine too? It wasn't directed against you or anything. Just saying that youtube's comment section is infamous for being one of the worst places on the web. So don't expect to find any opportunity for intelligent conversation there... Or any kind of intelligence for that matter.

xxxIndyxxx: I know this is a work in progress but:

1) framerate is bad, impressive Visuals yes, impressive that there are no loadscreens but at this cost? No I prefer a better framerate. If this is console gameplay then that's unfortunate because it looks like you need a monster pc to run this so I was considering going for the console version.

2) Geralt's face.... In their attempt to make him more realistic by making him look away and such small characteristics in conversation he looks like a robot trying to be human or something...

besides these issues it looks really good ;)
The framerate issues could at least in part be caused by the video file and not the game itself. Plus, as someone mentioned before, they have yet to go through the final optimization steps, so that could make a significant difference. If all else fails, there's the option of adjusting the graphics a bit for improved performance ( well, on PC at least ).

And I thought the character faces/animations looked fine... ? Better than in the older games.

whats with the framerate, if it lags for them, what will it do for our computers, slideshows

I haven't watched it yet but this could be youtube's fault. AFAIK they limit videos to 30 fps. I'm not 100% sure though...
I'm planning on using my two week vacation in February to play this game. Yep, I have no shame. :P
Optimization aside, this is likely to be more demanding than The Witcher 2 and it's an open world game with focus on zero loading. It's going to be demanding as hell. The problem is people is going to want to play at release and well, you either wait or you pay for hardware. I'm going to do a combination of both. :)

If they can still manage to put it on the console than it can't be 'demanding as hell' from a technical view. Also, I don't think CDPR will skimp out on the PC optimisation.

This. And I suspect they will provide plenty of options to adjust the graphics to your liking, hopefully with even more options than TW2 ( especially for features such as Anti-Aliasing ).

On Medium to High settings it should run fine on any decent gaming PC. But I doubt many people will be able to really max out the graphics to their full potential, similar to TW2 at release.

I'm also a bit dissapointed about his face. For me the animation is fine, but I think he looks too 'normal' for me. In previous games he does look like a mysterious mutant who can scare off some common thugs just by looking at them. In this one he just look like some old man who has aged rather well. I'm not really sure why though, could be his face expression, or maybe it's just the better graphics making him look more like a real human?
