The interface in the Windows version can make one shit one's pants without dying.

Great game but I always liked Shadowgate more
I'm still kind of dissapointed that Shadowgate: Trials of the four towers was only on N64

I played through the NES port, it was pretty fun at the time.
The NES ports of the Icom adventures had nice moody music.
I don't recall any deaths worse than DustFalcon's avatar.
