Elmofongo: Why do you mention the GOTY version?
Because that's the version I have.

rtcvb32: 3) Enemy difficulty and gear based on your level. When i hit something like 16th level i was being ambushed by bandits with high quality glass or ebony armor and weapons...
Well, most actually open-ish RPGs have that in one way or another - I know for a fact that a form of scaling was included in Baldur's Gate, and there most likely were more, earlier RPGs which did it as well. One might argue that many RPGs can't really work without a form of scaling, especially the fairly linear ones with branching paths like many other Bioware games. Then again, most of those were clever enough to do the scaling in such a way that it's consistent with the lore and player doesn't notice it...

Scaling is fine... But it has to make sense. Bandits who steal 50 gold a week or something from commoners and travelers suddenly decked out with tens of thousands of gold worth equipment just doesn't make sense. IF they see an adventurer decked out, they probably wouldn't hinder them. If they have the advantage in numbers sure that works, and it would probably be better than upgrading a single person. Sometimes scaling shouldn't happen. A sewer with rats that you fight won't suddenly be replaced by balrogs just because you're 50th level... Morrowind handled this much better by giving you different wildlife or group selections based on level, rather than upgrading equipment. Yeah it probably is similar in Oblivion, but they were obviously lazy...
I think possibly many of the posters in this thread haven't actually played very many games if they think an Elder Scrolls, Rebellion, Rome 2: Total War or Spore is the worst game ever.

Seriously, Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, Limbo of the Lost, Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, Zelda: Wand of Gamelon/Link: The Faces of Evil, Kasumi Ninja and Way of the Warrior are all much worse, and that's just off the top of my head.
For many, many, many reasons - Ethnic Cleansing is the worst game ever made.

The entire LEGO series? So casual and easy, everything a casual game ported to PC should aspire to be. No initial idea, simplified gameplay, ripping off story from successful franchises so at least the original franchise may buy them...........everything. A cash cow for any imaginable movie, IMO.

viperfdl: Star Wars: Rebellion
Worst 4X game I ever played.

TES Oblivion GOTY
Without mods it's just crap. I'm thinking about to try it with mods but there seems to be no German version of the OOO mod.

Will Rock
Boooring! Especially the cut version.
I loved Rebellion and Oblivion. I do have a problem with liking bad games, though. I even spent many hours on the Atari E.T. game. :)

Seriously? The LEGO games? That's just silly. Are the games repetitive, easy and uninspired? Sure, but my daughter loves them and I like them too, especially since they are a fun and non-irritating (for both of us) way to play some cooperative multiplayer. How exactly are they "ripping off" the story from the franchises they are licensed from? They are recreating it in LEGO form, not ripping it off.

Opinions are subjective and everything, I guess.
It's always amazing to see the responses whenever someone starts a topic about the worst game ever.
I didn't mean to offend anyone, but it personally seems kinda lazy from the developers part. Ofc, I'm talking about SP. The Co-op is fun when you have a family member/friend, but viewing from a singleplayer standpoint, it seems as you said, really uninspired.
Off the top of my head:

Soldier Of Fortune: Payback
STALKER - Clear Sky
Terminator 3: War of the Machines
Daikatana
Bad Day LA

(Probably not the worst game in history, but certainly the worst games I wasted good money on.)

If we're going that route, there's also the hundreds of rape simulators that populate the Japanese hentai game market
Nobody has mentioned Action 52 yet.

Shame on you all.

BadDecissions: Or there's always Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, a game that famously destroyed people's computers when it was uninstalled by also uninstalling essential system files. Say what you will about games like Guise of the Wolf, at least they don't kill your computer.
Didn't Myth 3 have the same kind of bug?

Because it's unlikely that any of us have ever even SEEN an Action 52, let alone played one. Haha!
