ddickinson: —————— GIVEAWAY CLOSED ——————

The giveaway has ended and instead of one winner I have ended up with four (and an extra bonus winner).

The first great penguin invasion has passed, and 01kipper has won the day, leading the faithful to victory over the evil penguin heretics. However, I felt bad that a Linux user did not win during a Linux themed giveaway, so I thought I would choose another winner from among the penguins. That winner is Vythonaut. But then I was left with a draw, one faithful and one penguin heretic, and so I decided to pick another winner to be the decider. That winner is Lugum. This means the faithful once again rose victorious over the Emperor's enemy - the despicable penguins, worshippers of the evil Linux god Tux! But then I picked another penguin to make it fair, since it was a Linux themed giveaway after all (two non-Linux and two Linux - but we faithful still won :-p), so the second Linux winner is park_84.

Although this first invasion has passed, the threat of the penguins will never end. With Linux games being continually added to GOG, and with more people falling to the lure of their evil, free, and open sourced operating system, it is only a matter of time before the penguin numbers increase and these heretics once again regroup and launch their next invasion, set to lay waste to the Emperor's chosen and the ever increasing DRM free games of GOG.

However, with the help of the mighty God-Emperor and the strength of the righteous, we faithful shall rise to the task, to defeat these heretical penguins and stop their spread of corruption. We shall stand vigilant and victorious, always ready to challenge their evil and protect the spoils of GOG from the evil that is Tux...

(Again, I'm sorry for the Warhammer 40,000 references, I was having fun and got a little carried away :-). Also, this was all just meant as a little fun, I have nothing against Linux or it's lovely penguin users. Enjoy your new Linux compatible games, followers of the evil dark god Tux :-) )

The Winners:
01kipper - Blake Stone: Planet Strike.
Vythonaut - Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition.
Lugum - Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender.
park_84 - Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold.
Ragnarblackmane (bonus winner) - Hammerwatch.

Although Ragnarblackmane was not picked as a winner, I decided to gift him his chosen game anyway. Partly because I think he deserves it, after his many giveaways and constant entries for other people during giveaways. But mainly due to the fact that Muttala beat me to it in gifting him Banner Saga. I saw that Ragnarblackmane had asked for it on the gifting thread and was about to go buy it for him and then I read a bit further down the thread and saw that Muttala had beaten me to it, so I will gift him Hammerwatch instead.

Congratulations to the winners and enjoy your games (check your PM's in a few minutes for your codes)!
Aww what a sweet gesture! I am grateful and humbled indeed for the generosity of fellow GoGers, and look forward to paying it back even more:)
Wow, thanks for the incredibly wonderful generosity ddickinson with not one or two but four lucky winners for your giveaway and congratulations to all the lucky winners both Tux and God-Emperor followers. It was really fun reading your announcement of the winners under the influence of Warhammer 40K so need to apologize, but I am confused about who is really evil in this story is it the evil Tux following linux users or the God-Emperor's army of non-linux penguin poachers, or maybe like any good story all of them have shades of grey. ;)

Thanks again for a great penguin flavored giveaway ddickinson and more +rep to you. Also a +1 to trentonlf for gift bombing in another's giveaway. :)

As a Mac user (I dual-boot to Windows 7 for games) and citizen of the God-Emperor, it is definitely those penguin heretics who are the evil ones of the story, it is they who are trying to take what is ours (namely, the spoils of GOG). Perhaps I didn't make it clear enough as to who the evil ones were, I did not want to go too far in case some Linux user thought I was being insulting, rather than just having a bit of fun as was intended.

I think you could also be right about the shades of grey to the story. After all, I'm sure those evil penguin cultists believe they are the righteous ones, not realising they have fallen to the corrupt and dark influences of Tux. Now they just mindlessly wonder, consuming all of GOG's games in their path, turning more and more of the Emperor's children onto their free and open sourced operating system, not stopping until all the faithful who oppose them are crushed, and everything is under the banner of Tux, the dark god of Linux.

trentonlf: You're very welcome! Hope the game is a blast for ya!
Yep, I'm about 40% through and highly recommend this game (especcially to Linux users because the graphics look very good with our drivers), it's a fun puzzler and works like a charm with my Saitek gamepad. :)
