This is a very good looking game, it's a departure from the isometric Sim City games of old... I have seen to many people bash it, and wanna boycott the game, well It hasn't even come out yet.. How can you boycott a game before even getting to play it first hand? I have so many reasons I want the next Sim City, I want a Global Market, CitiesXL tried but FAILED to deliver such a game.. EA can keep the servers free.. They don't need to charge $15/month like the defunct Monte Cristo did. I always felt that was a GREEDY MOVE on MC's part.. Charging $$$ for access to required resources is ROBBERY plain and simple in the context of a digital game... I think the overall layout of the game is really impressive.. FINALLY street cars!! (mass Transit trains,on the road, like San Francisco trolley's) The Curved roads are a little concerning, from videos I see the curved roads have HUGE gaps from the buildings, I hope this gets fixed in the final release. I think the developer interviews and Germany Game thing have shown more than enough about this game.. The Hero-villan set will just be so freaking sweet.. I hope I see clashes, i.e., BATTLES right in the middle of my city.. I saw Godzilla in one trailer, don't know what other disasters besides meteors and earthquakes they'll put in.. I'm hoping coastal cities have a chance of a Tsunami, I want to build my city but I do want realism... Otherwise it's like the sims 3 before the recently announced Seasons pack, BORING.. and too safe.. I love having my fire/police department doing stuff, squashing riots, fires, any mayhem really.. What i really want is the ability to run a world stock market and make an economy that can actually make money, the current real world situation is just a Mess.. ALL the world leaders should go on trial for massive mismanagement ... I want someone held accountable. Hiring former CEO'S of companies that tanked is not smart (MR.OBAMA I'm looking at YOU SIR)

Yeah, that kind of sums it up for me too. This thread makes no sense.

Why boycott? Well probably because it's looking set to be very overpriced and DLCed up the wazoo. Wasn't there also some suggestion of always online requirements too?

Well the whole point of "boycott" is normally to, you know not buy the game. Buying the game, playing it then boycotting it kind of kill the whole boycott thingy.

Personally it's easy; no need to play it, no need to read or watch anything about the game :

Always online requirement even for single player play == boycott,

Unless they changed their mind very recently (i.e. during the last month) the always online requirement is more of a fact rather than a "suggestion".

While the term 'boycott' is an embarrassment to gamers, there are nonetheless games that I'd never, ever buy and unless that 'feature' is ever changed then that's certainly one of them. That said, if EA or Ubisoft decide to bring the offending games to GOG then I may well consider getting them.
sim city world?

is that like Sim Island Peninsula.

someone at EA/Maxis needs to learn about sets and subsets.
