I was thinking of getting Myst Masterpiece, does the download from GOG include Riven and Exile and does Masterpiece include the extra location found in Real Myst?

Nope, you'll have to buy those seperately (Riven is also available on GOG).

No, that's a RealMyst exclusive.
Thanks PimPamPet, I guess I"ll buy Real Myst then. I have all these games on DVD and these play very well with their respective patches. I just eant to see the updated graphics and the new location in Real Myst. The DVD version of Masterpiece has Riven and Exile with it.

You've got the fabulous DVD version? Lucky you, I've got the Myst Collection with Riven ON 5 CDs! It's hellish.

(Gosh, it felt so good to get it in a single file from GOG...)
I'm a dyed in the wool Adventure gamer, but the very first game I EVER played (before I even knew how to load games on floppies, no less) was...DOOM. I cannot get that game out of my system! When will GOG get that bad boy. I can hear the creepy music in my head, in bits, like the vermin I remember slaughtering...oh, uh, I am an adventure gamer, but that and Duke Nukem and Crusader No Remorse, well, I'm still an adventure gamer!
ZeniMax owns iD software and sadly you'll never see a ZeniMax game appear here.... it just wont happen... thankfully all the games from them have better counterparts and most still work fine on modern systems save a few obscure Elder Scrolls titles...

If you like Doom check out:
Marathon - all 3 are free and they are the games that tell the story of Halo before the first game
Harmony - Its an homage to 3d shooters and plays the most like a cracked out duke 3D thats all sci-fi

there is also a TC for doom 3 to play doom in it, i think Quake 4 had something like that as well, and so did Half-Life/Hl2 even i think

Why?

Marathon isn't a prequel to Halo as it is more of a "spiritual prequel"; from my perspective, Halo was simply a reimagining of Marathon (after Bungie dropped the idea of making it a MMO RTS/RTT game). The Marathon community went through all sorts of mental gymnastics trying to reconcile the various discrepancies between the two game universes, but it just didn't work out.

according to the dates in certain messages Marathon is set like 20k years after Halo...
It's possible that the Halo and Marathon games take place in the same universe, but the plots are so far removed chronologically that it's like talking about dinosaurs while explaining human history. The dinosaurs really have no place in it.

Anyway, the classic Myst "trilogy" is awesome. I never played Myst IV or V or any of the Uru games. I should really consider realMyst.
I liked Myst V and Uru, but you aren't missing a whole lot. The first three are the best. After that, the story gets a bit messy.
If you Myst fans didn't know, Myst Online URU Live has been online for most of this year. If you want to still support Cyan, I'd recommend purchasing URU here on GoG and then downloading the client here: http://mystonline.com/en and playing it. The development team is still patching it daily, from my last visit.

I've played a bit through the summer and acquired many Myst friends. The Ki is your messenger of sorts, allowing you to add friends as well as solve puzzles. If you can get a group together, or go with another group, you can solve puzzles that take hours to finish in minutes. It's a great environment for Myst fans, new and old.

I'm still working my way through to get to the Myst island for nostalgic purposes. I heard the books are burnt though. So no linking to my favorite Stoneship Age. :[

Could you link to Harmony? Saw some videos on youtube and it looks pretty awesome but can't for the life of me find where to get it.

Edit: Nevermind. Found it here
