The indie adventure "The Journey Down - Chaper 1" is out for about two months now, created by the sympathethic devs from SkyGoblin, looking good, occasionally compared with Grim Fandango because of the masks and mythology, DRM-free, and now also permanently 50% off (6 euros on GamersGate and Desura, updates on Indievania are apparantly neglected again, still $14 over there). But ...
I find it very difficult to listen to the voiceovers in gameplay videos or even reading the dialogues of the main characters, because it all seems so horribly clichéd and unfunny (even worse than the Mammago garage in Beyond Good & Evil). Has anyone already played the game? What do you think of it? Is my first impression deceiving?
EDIT: Oh, btw, I just noticed a Tweet from one of the developers offering promo codes for anyone interested in reviewing the game. So if e.g. you have a youtube channel where you review games, you could give it a shot and I would watch it. ;)
