Klumpen0815: Oh, you came to my town, I could have given you access to some excellent live music, on the 11th I played with my hurdy-gurdy and drums at my regular accoustic folk session (French, Swedish and German dancing tunes) and on the 20th my favourite arab-folk/jazz crossoverband played for free in a small church.
You are from Berlin itself? I just mentioned Berlin because I know you're from Germany, well this is unfortunate as I surely would have liked to listen to your instrumental performance.
I saw a group of musicians playing bagpipe and drums between the Gedächtniskirche and the Europacenter and that was on the 11th as well in the early evening and they were dressed in medieval garb, maybe that were friends of yours?
Perhaps I should check the forums before I go anywhere to see if there are any local Goglodytes there but I've tried that before and then one finds out about local members only after one has already returned. Anyway, I have friends in Berlin and plan to go again next year because there is plenty of interesting things to paint in the area so there will be another chance to say hi, hopefully.
Here's the painting of the Gedächtniskirche (Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church) from that day. It's tragic that the church got destroyed in a bomb raid back in WW2 and only the spire still stands today, with most of the roof missing. It's coincidence that I painted the Memorial Church on September 11th, the commemorative date of another bomb attack.
