I laughed and I cried at the same time (not from laughter).

Wow, what happened? The last thing I remember is hearing something like a chainsaw on metal sound, and the next thing I realise, there are two dead cops at my feet. It would appear that death occurred by strangulation and massive blunt force trauma to the groin area. Well, no matter, let's hear this video of yours...

orcishgamer: I shut it down when I saw an eight year old on the guitar and seven year old on the drums.
When I read this post I immediately thought of the best band ever, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtEmcruWTso

Unfortunately this thread is not about that band.
Dr Adder that is just an advert for Pedo's who want a better standard of living with their underage plaything.
I just wrote yesterday on another forum that I don't consider myself a "gamer"... that's way too broad a term and the vast majority of video games are things that do not interest me.

Say wha? Hahah. Well, I actually do know a little bit about this particular band. There parents were music producers, which is why they were able to put out such an album. Which come to think of it, could also be the case with the band who is the true subject of this thread? Anyway, when I was in high school I went to a punk show and everyone was making fun of a teenager there who apparently had been in Old Skull. I never actually heard them until I saw this video.

LordKuruku: as I always say, "It's never too late for an abortion, no matter how advanced the fetus has become".
Not wanting to sound like someone who can't take a joke, but how do you tell until after the fact?
See new Bulletstorm trailer for a perfect example of why gaming is considered low-class idiotic entertainment by the media.

I can't help but feel that we brought part of this, if not most of this, on ourselves.

Most games that interest us require a lot of investment to even understand, let alone appreciate. There are also assumptions of prior experience with similar games. Everyone who do not already play games regularly aren't going to understand them. Any attempt to create games that may be appreciated by non-gamers are regularly met by our communities with scorn, as seen in the "casual* gaming" and Wii controversies (some of it right here on the GOG forums).

I mean, how many of us would feel comfortable sitting our parents and co-workers in front of Total Annihilation or the original Deus Ex?

* I must add that the word "casual" kind of bugs me. It's either a smarmy marketing buzzword or an elitist insult.
