Chisaku: I wonder how much time they -actually- put in creating this. I personally think people who have bought the game should ask for refunds, but not now as the support is clogged with errands. I'm not sure if GG would agree on that, but if the contents of the game are stolen, I think it shouldn't have been sold in the first place.
Hmm, I'm not sure if "stolen" is the right word, since the graphics _are_ supposed to be used in Sploder games ... these just might not be supposed to be sold then (at least, if I were running Sploder, I would want my share).

Personally I won't ask for a refund - I gambled 2€ on an unknown game in full knowledge that the money might be wasted, and to me, 2€ aren't worth the effort of trying to get them back through a refund. I do think that the brazenness of the developers requires some response though, and I'm a bit concerned about possible legal implications for GamersGate.

With regard to your first questions, I played around a bit in the game creator, and I doubt that more than a couple of hours have gone into creating the games. They aren't even using the potential of Sploder.
Save the World has been removed from GG....
Yep. The game's shop page still exists on gamersgate.co.uk, but the game cannot be bought anymore, and has been removed completely from gamersgate.com.

Also, the games cannot be played anymore. I first thought that perhaps Sploder had disabled the developer's account, but actually I can't seem to play _any_ games on Sploder right now ...

Ah, of course! I worded it without thought, thank you for correcting me.

I hope that we won't see games like these in the future on GG.
Save the world collection is back on GG :)

...

I sent an inquiry to Sploder about this.

I would've understood if the game was made with game maker or such, but using an internet flash site, making a level or two with premade resources and then selling it, that's just bad taste. If Sploder allows this, then I'm fine with it, otherwise I'm not.

Its amazing how the price of that game keeps changing...maybe if i check everyday, at some point GG will pay me to buy it :)
Sploder Staff replied:
"I've sent the developers a takedown request, as well as to the online marketplace they are using."

So, they were using the Sploder resources without permission as well. And two of the reviews on the GG page makes me think (although my accusations may be unfounded) that the developers (or somebody they know) made them. It feels like they're keeping the price so low that they themselves can buy it and rate it 5 stars on different accounts. In a few days the game has sprung from 33 to 111 votes and the star value has increased.

... why do I even care?

Heh, and to think they would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for those meddling GOGers! ;-D

Haven't a single experience of this kind so far and Dark Void Zero worked fine on both systems I've tried it on.
from my perspective, the first 2 or 3 indy bundles were fine. but there are so many of them now all pwyw or "bonus's" for paying above the average.

The recession bundle confuses me. "here's 6 freeware games as part of our bundle. give us some money and have these 2 unheard of games too" WTF? why not just bundle the 2 none free ones as a pack? bundling freeware into it looks like your paying for more than you should if you choose to pay at all.

Dont get me wrong the option for charities is great and I wish more developers (bigger ones, obviously the biggest wont do it but some of the known devs that arent indy) would give the option to either have part of the price go to charity or hell even an option to add a little to the cost of the game but that the extra bit goes to charity (maybe even is matched by the dev/publisher)

anyway you can likely ignore the above to be honest im a little cranky today and ranting a bit.
Don't like it? Don't buy it. SIMPLE AS THAT.

I love the indie bundles (and the publisher bundles who present themselves as indie, aka indiegala and others). I love them and will continue to purchase them, they are working for a democratization of PC gaming. Think about it: the same way accessible games made Mobile gaming take off, like Angry Birds, indie games from bundles are making PC gaming accessible. ;)

So, I know there's all the value and revenue debate to the developers and all that, but fuck: I am a consumer, they are the developers or publishers. It is not my problem, they are the ones who should come will new models for sale and discounted sales (the indie bundles being an example of a new model, a very successful model in number of people buying and talking about PC games).

And the charity aspect is a thing I deeply appreciate, but I consider it as a bonus. I if I really want to do a SERIOUS donation, I will go to the site of the ONG and not of an indie bundle. ;)

Not ignoring your post, I think all posts add something to the discussion. ;)

reaver894 and others, here's your chance to talk directly to that bundle organizer:

There's a number of us that never got Dark Void Zero working.

I think SecuRom is screwing it up somehow - but it's ridiculous that they used SecuRom in the first place.

Yeah, the Recession Bundle should be just looked at as a kids charity only because the games really aren't doing any one any favors. I'm going to hit them with a few bucks when I get paid.

I think the bundles site didn't want to list it as just a charity only seeing as they were a 'bundle' site but at the same time really couldn't dig up much.

That's something I might look to do in the future if I can make a few of my own games is offering my titles up as 'Pay What You Want starting from 1 dollar' and only collecting 25 percent profit thus allowing the hosting site to give the other 75% to charity.

My partner has a steady income and profession she'd never leave because she loves it too much and I already work from home so it's not like I'd need full return on games I make.
