Typhoon45: So I was looking around the games catalogue lately when I realized that there were a LOT of D&D rule set games on it. Now, I'm kind of a "nerd" because D&D has always held a pretty huge appeal to me. Unfortunately, there isn't anyone in my area who "kinda-sorta" shares this interest, so I have no-one to play the actual game with.
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction on my foray into video-game D&D? I'm trying to think of a good first purchase, any help is appreciated.

I would like to thank personally everyone who posted on this thread. I appreciate clarification on rule sets and gameplay, and I enjoyed reading your responses. I'm just trying to drum up some cash, then I'm going to look into purchasing for real. :)
