pigdog: Double Espresso, black, no sugar - preferably made from coffee beans that have just been unsealed from the pack.

Note to Starbucks, Costas and other chains - DOUBLE espresso means twice the strength not twice the amount!

I don't drink any soda's.

marianne: Had to laugh. I had the same problem at Starbucks.
The first time I ever had Espresso was in Spain and I was hooked.
Problem is....hooked is literal. I worked in an office that had a coffee machine that made surprisingly good espresso. I know a connoisseur would never agree but it did grind fresh coffee beans and hit the spot. However, after several headaches throughout each weekend, it occurred to me that I was having pretty harsh withdrawal symptoms.

The moral of the story is to have access to espresso's throughout the weekend and life will be good again :)

Hahaha...Cute. After drinking espresso in Europe, I was spoiled. The espresso here in the States did not compare. It sometimes had a bitter quality and sometimes it was too acidic. And it lacked the depth of a coffee flavor. However, it could also be where I had it here. Maybe if I could afford the high-rated establishments...it might be very good.
I take my coffee like I take my women......bitter.

Traveling by express-in-name-only train in Spain in the bad old days, I took an overnight layover in some little junction like Back of Nowhere, La Mancha. There was a bar open for breakfast before the train out of there showed up late, so I went in and asked for "cafe negro". Bartender said no, you want "cafe con leche". I insisted, and I found out why when I got it. You could've stood a spoon straight up in it. It would have grown hair on your chest even if you didn't have any. Good, though, and it kept me awake all the way to Valencia late that night.

Potzato: Soda : Zilch, ZIp, Niet.
Have you tried Nada?
Coffee - The cheap stuff.
Soda - Throwback Pepsi with real sugar and Mountain Dew if I feel I need more energy and alertness.

I don't believe that for one minute...You know what they say...liar, liar, pants on fire.....
Doesn't real sugar have the exact same chemical makeup as that of corn syrup?

I buy generic store brand coffee. It does the job.

I've been on a Mountain Dew kick as of late (throwback is awesome :D). Next few months who knows.

Great story....memories !! Really bad coffee is when you can see the bottom of the cup....eewww
Coffee: Mostly high quality beans from two very good small local roasteries. I grind them manually and always make an espresso and a latte macchiato at a time. The espresso without sugar, the latte macchiato with just a little bit or alternatively a tiny dash of flavored syrup. Cold, so that it sinks to the bottom of the glass and serves as a sweet finish.

Soda: None; Sparkling liquids are suspicious ;-)

I get the throw backs most any time I get the option.

Coffee: Prefer Kenyan beans but anything works. Generally black but sometimes prefer a little cream depending on how the coffee tastes

Soda: There isn't any I won't drink.

marianne: @ tinyE...If they sell it online, how or what do we call it ? I mean, can we say that in google ? I really would like to get some for gifts.
(damn you TinyE) I just bought it on Amazon.com for $15, for one of my co-worker's birthday.

I hope she drinks coffee.
Coffee: I might have an iced capp, or maybe even a mocha once in a blue moon.

Soda: Dr Pepper, Pepsi, and A&W root beer.

For what it's worth, I drink way more milk and Arizona than anything else
