Anyone seen/played this and is it any good?

Unfortunately, on GamersGate it seems to just be a Steam key (which is always a bad sign for the possibility of a DRM-free release) and even on the Humble Store widget it seems to just be a Steam key only.

Well, I "won" a copy of it on Twitter but I still haven't gotten it. Originally, they sent me a Guns of Icarus Online key and now they're still trying to sort it out.

So I'll let you know when I finally get it. xD
I bought it on preorder for the discount it had, based on the demo I had played maybe a year ago.

Tried finding it for you, but apparently it's not on their website anymore. You know these indie games, they win awards for their demos but aren't released until years later, maybe they felt it no longer represented the game well, but you can keep looking if you're interested.

Anyway, haven't gotten around to it yet. If I remember to play it when I get home I'll give you an answer.
TB had a video of it, looks like a puzzle platformer in the vein of And Yet It Moves, but it's more puzzle where AYIM was more platformer. Seems interesting.
Relevant.

Alright, got around to playing the first two chapters tonight.

It's good, but unremarkable. It honestly doesn't feel all that different from other single-mechanic puzzlers out there. Graphic style is pretty, sure, there also appears to be somekind of story being told in the form of a single paragraph of text after each chapter, though I doubt it will be a big a part of the overall experience.

The puzzles are interesting enough, but at least so far I haven't seen any that was particularly challenging or that inspired any big "Eureka!" moments. Granted I'm just two chapters in, it's quite possible the puzzles will become more interesting as it progresses.

I should also point out that the M. C. Escher-esque worlds are for the most part just backgrounds. I played 10 rooms and I think only three or so actually had the architecture affect the puzzle solutions.

Let me clarify that I did like the game and intend to play it all the way through, but I'm a sucker for this type of game and probably have gone through all the others in the genre, so it's only natural I'd play this one as well.

If you haven't played all the others though, maybe you should start with another game first? Have you played Closure? It's in the same vein, cheaper, and I found it's single-mechanic a bit more interesting than this one.

EDIT: Forgot to say, the second chapter introduced a gravitational vortex, knowing that a reverse gravity mechanic is to come afterwards, makes ne think the game should keep introducing new elements to avoid getting boring.

Ahh, à la Braid? I'll definitely keep an eye out for it then, but I think I'll wait for it to be cheap and/or DRM-free.
this game is now on HB store yet it's still "steam only"... :(

I'd love to buy this game for my mum but she doesn't have steam on her computer (seems stupid to me to install it on her old computer just for one little game)

I still hope a DRM-free version will come, but I kind of lose hope, it's almost a year, and if HB didn't get a non-steam version, I doubt anyone will...

maybe GOG will come and save the day?

It was on the humble store when I made this thread. I wrote to the dev asking if they'd add a DRM-free version and they said they "couldn't".

hmm... couldn't or wouldn't? :D

anyhow, probably nothing HB can do about this... it's the devs :(
I'd love to see The Bridge here on GOG, but in the meantime, it's currently $0.99 on Steam.
People having 'wishlisted' it probably received an email, no need to necro year-old things up for that.
Thanks on behalf of those interested though.

I have it on steam. It's an interesting puzzle game with a unique art style that I like. If you enjoy puzzles, I'd recommend it for sure.

Edit: Didn't notice this was a necro...
