It kind of reminds me what we do in my hometown Lyon, every december 8th, during what we call the illuminations. Different style, but it hypnotizes people the same way.

Forgive my lack of elementary 20th century knowledge, but does flash photography actually help catch the effect, or does the pic look bland, and it just ruins the show for other people?
