Humm... gonna check this Demonbane.
Thanks for the tip.

By the way, do you know CthulhuTech???
It's a RPG (pen & paper) game about Cthulhu-Mythos, in the future.
First time I heard about it, it really sound awful to me, but when I took some time to read a bit about it.
I have to say, I loved it!
Oh, and the artwork... the wonderful artwork...

You certainly re-animated this ancient dead thread, so this is very lovecraftian of you. :) Thanks though, I had never heard of Demonbane, might check it out now.

nondeplumage: Too bad he was such a racist, bigoted fuck.
In addition to being a short-story writer, Lovecraft was also a poet. For instance:

When, long ago, the gods created Earth
In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
Yet were they too remote from humankind.
To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
Filled it with vice, and called the thing a N*****.

What a charmer. But that was a 1912 work, so he may, as other people have said, have gotten better. Personally, I've never been a fan of the man's stories themselves, but I've enjoyed a lot of stuff clearly inspired by him.

edit: aaaand, I just realized that I quoted a three-year-old post to quote racist poetry at someone. Well, uh ...

edit: since I'm here anyway, I'd feel remiss if I didn't point out that Japan has also produced an anime series featuring Nyarlathotep as a magical girl/space policewoman
