You know that's not what I meant - please stop being so touchy ;-p I've found good homes for the games you've dropped in my PM and I know triock has done the same. We're happy to help since we both know you've been burned in the past by greedy peeps....
All I'm asking is that you send codes to us or foxworks to use in BONZA instead of dropping free-range codes. I mean you're welcome to whatever you want - it isn't some kind of rule but rather a suggestion that has made this forum a teensy bit less, um, well maybe the word is ugly or troll attractive.
Also, we miss you so you could come back - I personally promise not to say word one about it except "HI, great to see you again!"

Alternately, you could come back to the forum actively, yanno...

And now it seems that Schnuff will again disappear.
What exactly have you won?
MAHAYO is a good idea. But all you can do is use it yourself, explain it, and then let people choose. I don't like this our-way-or-the-highway stuff going on.
Giveaways are fun until they become choked up with police and naggers.
Please let people be, especially the ones who know what they are doing, like Schnuff. N00bs might need a first-time explanation, but it's a simple concept. They only need to be told once. And that can be done in PM.
Secondly, maybe you recall that we had a pretty serious troll infestation not too long ago...or if you didn't, then allow me to enlighten you. We had a serious troll problem. It even caused a multi-year thread to be closed by Judas.
Thirdly, I am not telling Schnuff what to do or not to do. Schnuff generally does whatever Schnuff wants to do including dropping codes in certain people's PM boxes and allowing them to do whatever they want. I happen to be one of these people and I've always found good homes for Schnuff's bounty. I AM however suggesting that Schnuff refrain from the practice of dropping free-range codes - yeah, making them a bit hard to get is somewhat admirable but threads like this still attract trolls... (see point 2)
Lastly, I don't win anything except a nicer forum for everyone - that includes you ;-p This isn't about chastizing or winning - it's just about making this a place where everyone enjoys themselves and wants to hang out. Make A Human Answer You is ALL about relationship building... So yeah, I'd love it if Schnuff would come back cause I enjoy their company. And I'd really love it if Schnuff began gifting in a MAHAYO-kind-of-way because I think Schnuff and everyone else here adds value to this forum being a truly fun, generous, kind, warm, friendly place.

But it seems the forum is not willing to go that far, and increasingly we're opting for constant nagging and policing of giveaways. I don't find this any more pleasant than the trolls.

Yes, Judas suggested that but the GOG forum thrives and grows on generosity so while he can say that, I think GOG benefits hugely from the kind of forum that engenders sharing. Yeah, some people complain about all the GA's but really would you like to see what this place would be like without them? Leave the occasional religious thread, the anti-feminist threads, the few "ban the person above you"-type threads, the "bring this to GOG", the drunk thread... yeah. Tell me again why GA's are bad?

I've only scanned the last few posts here, so probably shouldn't say anything, but I understand how some could be turned off by all the giveaways here.
When I first got active here a few months ago it was a breath of fresh air to find a giveaway thread and see other examples of true generosity around the forum.
But after a couple weeks it got to the point where it seemed like there were five giveaway threads for every other type of thread, and evidence of ungrateful code thieves and people here just for freebies. As much as I love freebies, I've gotten to the point where I just ignore the giveaway threads and wish that they were all in a specific subforum.
Hey, why can't we do that?

OH no! not another GENEROUS Giveaway! Please put them in their own subforum because ...I can't stand all the generosity cluttering up my otherwise slow paced forum. At least make them put giveaway in the threead title so I can skip it....oh wait.

It's just not always (or usually) easy. Especially changing selfish people's habits. It sucks, but it has to be done, kind of like cleaning the toilet.
As far as Juda's answer, I think more than one of us took that as a "do this, so I don't have to make a decision or really do anything" type of reply... again, a shameful easy way out.
And no, I won't spend pages of the thread fighting over it, already have, bored of it... and I'm sure Schnuff wouldn't want the stress in the thread.
And now back to our regularly scheduled thread...
And Hi to Schnuff! nice to see you "not" back (again) :)
