Sad thing is, if this were just some guy living in a trailer park (no offense to trailer dwellers, I've seen some nice ones in my time) or... dare it be said, a non-white, this wouldn't even be newsworthy - clamp 'em in irons and take 'em away.

Because this is someone involved with law enforcement (even if nominally), this will be a big deliberation and drawn out all to hell. Same thing happens with corrupt cops, regulators who are caught with a conflict of interest, etc.

The legal system in the west isn't going to improve until those who work in it are held to the same standard as those they're supposed to be overseeing.

This sort of thing happens all over the world. I'm not shocked no matter what state or country it happens in.

This wasn't spontaneous. This was cruel & premeditated calculating torture from the father towards the 16yr old daughter.

What's worse than actually watching it, AND the context of the beating (she wanted music & PC games - not sex, drugs, alcohol or weapons; think about it......& it goes without saying that even if that was the case, torture like this is never the answer), was that in addition to all that, he's fuckin telling her to "Bend over on the bed." It takes the cake in this torture that's not only physical, but mental on so many levels.

To me it seems like he was tryna beat down her spirit (ie. deny her music & PC games, make her wary of even thinkin about gettin it on her own terms, and then beat her down savagely for these things that truly deserve no such hurt) so he could eventually 'tame' her to the point that he could fuck her, and she'd be submissive to it.

Absolutely, positively disgusting. What sickens me even more is the mental condition the poor, poor girl suffers from.

This man deserves the most severe punishment which the law allows. A long jail term, his job and status in the dirt and for his daughter to be there when the sentence gets handed down.

Very true, all sorts of things take place behind closed doors. If this has lasting repercussions on the judge's life, it might inspire other children to attempt the same thing. Some parents would stop and think twice if they knew their actions might show up in public one day. Others would just search carefully for cameras before letting loose.
