Lou: The CO8 additions make this one of the best RPG's available IMO.

gyokzoli: Where can I find these CO8 additions?

Try This or Google Circle of 8 Mod

dudalb: Just a warning to not play this game without being fully patched. The release version was one of worst fiascos in recent years as far as being buggy goes, It was quite literally unplayable. Pathces fixed most of the problems, but the game never recovered from the terrible reviews it got (quite rightly) on account of the incredibly buggy condition in which it was intially released.

StingingVelvet: It's a shame so many people judge a game on release-day condition even years later. So many games were fixed quickly and turned into amazing experience but still today I see people on forums refuse to play them because they're "buggy."

TOEE was not fixed quickly. I own it and enjoyed it, but experienced a game breaking issue and gave up while I was on the plane of fire. Judging something by its release quality is fair, look what happened with TQ: The Immortal Throne.
BTW, it is one RPG where it is possible to play absolutely evil, kill everyone. You can even do it as a solo character.

KyleKatarn: Several times I held the box for this game when it first came out, wondering if I should buy it. I never did. I think I will look for a copy now.
One question I have about TOEE: Does TOEE do combat quicker than Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor? I prefer a challenging game that makes you feel insignificant at first and that makes you sink or swim. Ruins of Myth Drannor fit that bill for me, but I would have enjoyed it much more if an orc could have walked faster than a turtle.

I own both, TOEE is far superior in combat (including being faster). It's Greyhawk rules though, irrc, keep that in mind.

Bumping for the New Release
Anyone got any tips for killing the Giant frogs near the begining of the game .. I keep getting wasted by them :(
I'd suggest moving this discussion to the ToEE forum. Likely that's where people playing the game are going to look for help/answers/discussion on the game.

I linked it in there but wish I could just move the whole thing.
There is apparently a problem with the GOG exe file, most of the major anti virus programs are deleting it as a threat. GOG needs to fix this fast.

This isn't actually a GOG problem unless the file is an actual threat, it's a crappy antivirus vendor problem. You should share the executable with them however your particular antivirus lets you provide feedback and they will release updates.

I hear Avast does not have this problem (free for home use, once a year you have to fill out a couple of form fields and enter your key). I have used it for years and been relatively happy if you want to switch (and if you use Norton or MacAfee you should, any others it's up to you).

toeeguest: Since GoG doesn't offer ToEE, is there actually a legal way left to buy Temple of Elemental Evil online?
I saw this and was like huH??!!

Then I saw the creation date for this thread.
