I know. I meant it as rhetoric (lol 2nd time I used this today). Some of the SS developers have posted on the TTLG forum before, including Ken Levine I believe, but it isn't an official forum. It's a fan-created for those darn taffers and hackers.

I think it's only because SS1 is pretty easy to get a copy of, while SS2 is nigh impossible. I really love SS1 also, but it's such a different game from its sequel that it's hard to compare. SS1 is more like Ultima Underwlrd on steroids (or...on cybernetic enhancers, maybe?? O_o). SS2 is a little more of a survival/RPG/FPS hybrid.

If it isnt legal, theyre certainly turning a blind eye. Thats the only game that has a downloadable version on that forum, there isnt any Thief or System Shock 2 download links there.

Still, its easier to find an original System Shock copy on ebay than System Shock 2. I think thats the reason why so many people want it more than the first one.
