didn't see this as a topic on the first page of topics, and undoubtedly someone has already called it out in the GG summer sale mega thread, but fuck me I felt like it deserved it's own thread. (seeing as how EA still has the bastard up for $60 on origin)

sorry if my exuberance is misplaced or excessive, I've been wanting to try this game for a while but the price has always been lodged in the WTFAUFKMYGSOBEA zone (What The Fuck Are You Fucking Kidding Me You Greedy Son A Bitch Electronic Arts).

*edit* strangely it seems to not be showing up in the list of "offers" despite being -60% *shrug*

And please, ignore the haters. This game is awesome, especially for this price.
I guess I'm a hater because it controls like ass and I stopped playing it very quickly.

Sogi-Ya: snip
I suggest you spend your money on something better. The controls are awful, the "storyline"(If you can call it that) is moronic, the graphics are terrible(the whole game has like 3 colors).

You weren't able to get the mouse problems sorted at all?

Some stuff improved it but it still plays like ass. Tried a gamepad and it still felt off and wrong. Not enthused to keep trying.
I got it for $15 on Gamefly last weekend. I don't mind paying an extra $3 since I loved it (as my new avatar pic indicates) even if it's too short with a poor story. I see where Stinging is coming from with the controls tho. It does feel odd at first, a little too floaty if there's a way to describe it, but I stopped noticing after the first level.
I didn't have any problems with the controls. The only real issue is that it is really short. But i had a lot of fun playing it, i loved the art style, the guns, the missions, the level design. I knew i could trust Starbreeze to make a good FPS.
Im just renting it now. Starbreeze knows how to make a good shooter. I suppose I understand the hate because its not a tactics game, but the coop is at its core, quite similar to the original, its just you play as one member of the 4 agents in a first person shooter format. The singleplayer might be a different animal that I haven't sunken much time into yet, but the coop really maintains a lot of what makes Syndicate, Syndicate. It's much more limited I guess, probably for balances sake, but you play with up to 3 other agents, choose loadouts, research upgrades, fight off relentless enemies, pick missions based on the map of the original, and tactics are an option (such is the nature of coop). The only real difference there is the lack of civilians and some abilities like the persuadertron.
