Done...also looking foward to the results...
Done! Hope you posted this to a number of various places though, GOG users can be biased in certain areas.

Also for the Subscription payment type, I'm not sure if you meant monthly subscriptions for MMOs, since Steam is technically a subscription too.
Done, but some questions weren't all that clear to me and I might have screwed up a few, e.g. the question about how much money we spent on "online" titles was only about MMOs and such, not about digital purchases, right? And I have to admit I didn't know what to do with Pre-Paid and Post-Paid or what that other model was, so I left them out, although it's possible I use them all the time, depending on the meaning. I just haven't heard these terms a lot in this context. ;)

And the question about whether we find an activation key acceptable or not didn't distinguish between server-based online activation keys, constantly changing activation keys (e.g. a new one required for each new system setup) or static offline CD-keys, which makes a big difference to me in single player games.

Nicely designed survey. I especially liked the sliders.

One problem could be the interpretation of the results for the questions about DRM. Advertising in a forum of a shop that is proud of only having DRM free products is not really the best way to get an unbiased judgement. Particularly when the original post footer refers to anti DRM sites. Kind of: ask the right people and get the right answers - problem. ;)

I assumed that this is what I always do. Pay first, consume afterwards.

That's what I feared because in that case I screwed up. ;)

Oh, and I thought a lot of questions were missing a really neutral option. I only remember one question where you could check "Don't know". The DRM questions for example were severely spilt into positive and negative; I bet that a majority of gamers is more or less indifferent towards DRM and not necessarily against it, but why should they feel positive about it, as if e.g. limited activation was a feature that made the game more fun or that makes them feel safer from evil pirates or whatever ...?

So this setup could influence people to vote against DRM when they're actually rather indifferent towards it.

Constructing a non-biased survey is extremely difficult and takes a lot of training, and this one seems like it may give less than optimal results in the end (like the "no opinion" options). Still, I filled it out and wish you luck with your study.

We especially promoted it here because gog is part of the survey. But we have also different channels where the survey is communicated:

- Game Development Initiative Ruhr
- MD.H Gamedesign Düsseldorf
- Twitter
- Gameswelt.de
- ESL.eu (Germany + UK)
- Indiedb.com
- cinefacts.de
- consolezone.de
- gamona.de
- gamestar.de (biggest german gaming-site)
- lot of smaller communities
- different Facebook Groups

Feel free to spread the link into your communities also - the more participating people we get, the better will be the result.
