Feel the power of probably the most fun-packed racing game of all time, for only $5.99
Time has been very kind on [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/screamer]Screamer, as the game hasn't aged as much as its release date would suggest. With the fast-paced races, bright, contrasting colors, hypnotizing engine sounds and a hyperactive commentator, you won't even notice the graphics are over ten years old. If you're looking for a 100% realistic driving simulator, you won't find it here. But if you want a dynamic arcade racing experience, packed with improbable power slides and burning rubber, it will be hard to find a better game than Screamer. And don't forget you can also play with friends, over a LAN or the Internet.
I remember when this game came out, various friends (and oddly teachers at school) were talking about how insane the size of the game was, and the fact said size was compressed.
Aside from that, I don't remember anything about it! Looks rather colourful though.
It's good to know that the surprise releases are still here. Games + surprises = awesome!
Really funny game :)
Oh my God... nostalgiagasm!
This is one of my favorites, thanks a lot GOG. :)
Really fun racing game if a little short and easy. I think the graphics hold up well considering its age. Great soundtrack as well. :)
I wonder if they managed to make it stable since when I tried it on dosbox it would sometimes crash, especially on the sunset beach(not sure if thats the right name) track.
Oh i remember this think i got a cur down verion with my 3d card. Had great fun playing this. Cant wait to try again vrooom vroom
This reminds me of Cruis'n USA, which was one of my favorite N64 games. I think I'll grab this when I get home and give it a try.
Thanks GOG!
Do not know much about it as I had never heard of it before today.
Great game, thanks. I also want Motorhead from Gremlin and Fatal Racing too. :)

It's called Motorhead. :D Screamer's still an awesome game, though. Had lots of fun with it back when I was a kid.

YES! Thank you! I've been trying to remember the title of Fatal Racing for a while now. :) Awesome game, kind of like Screamer, but more aggressive and with very tricky stages. :)
I have boxed versions of Screamer and Fatal Racing lying around somewhere.
Never really got into FR, but screamer was a blast.
I remember visiting my friend, whose older brother had a Playstation!!!, and playing Ridge Racer. I was so amazed that i had to search out an equivalent racing game for my PC..
Not sure screamer was quite as good as Ridge Racer, but it was definitely good fun.
Screamer 2 was a great game too, though it was a "tribute" to Sega Rally more than to RR.
Did anybody get the setup to work under DOSBOX? I know it seems a bit strange, but I really prefer the MIDI soundtrack to the CDDA version :)
Edit, just replaced STARTH with SETUP in the conf file and it worked!
