Does anyone know how long it takes to get a response to a support request at the moment?

I submitted a support request about a month ago based on the problem outlined in this thread: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/alien_nations/sound_problem
I've updated the request twice, after they re-launched the site and updated the game to be Win7 compatible. I've still not heard a word from the GOG support crew, and as mentioned it's been about a month now...

I agree.

I have had the same problem with Disciples II - only one person has even bothered to attempt to help me out here and it's quite an hideous problem...

I don't want to whine and everything but there should be some way to make sure your problems are being heard and at least get a "Sorry, impossible to fix" answer.

A solution may be to put stickies on top of EVERY game forum page - from every question and solution found, as well as questions that have not been answered and links to the thread with said question.

Example:

Disciples II

Issue:
* Sound doesn't work
Solutions:
If on Win Xp, use compatibility mode with sp3
If on Win7 64bit, use blah blah

Issue:
*Graphical glitch on second campaign intro
Solutions:
Unresolved. Go to www.blahblha.com/graphiccligtchetc

I think this would go a long way to resolving a lot of issues and giving people a quick and easy way to finding solutions to their problems.
It's all in the rep. Example:

Lowest rep, no stars: You call yourself a goger? Bah, two years or more, then maybe they'll sniff at your problem. Don't count on it.

Low rep, one star: What, you're still here? Hmmm, letmeseethat. I know it's been a month, just hold on.

Med rep, two stars: Your question has merit. We'll get back to you in a day or two. Max.

High rep, three stars: You have a problem? Good lord. I'll be right there, I'll just finish this here Fallout game. I'm almost done, just a hour or so.

Very High rep, four stars: Red alert! Battle stations! We have a problem here! Stat!

Fuckton of rep: Your issues get solved before you even know you have a problem. Issues get solved in the past.
Come on guys, this is a QUESTION.

Don't you know that off topic comments are not supposed to be tolerated?

Besides, rep doesnt count for squat at the moment with everyone spamming each others rep like crazy. I agree with the question and I would like a sensible answer. I've been on this forum since BEFORE they went beta, and despite an hiatus of a year due to personal reasons (and no, not personal issues with GoG - REAL life reasons) I have yet to see my rep raise by more than 35. *shrug*
The rep thing was just a joke. Don't take it personally.

@Aignur: Your issue could be the result of the sound card, or possibly the drivers. Try turning off the sound effects or music, and see if the problems persist.

@Virama: Your graphical issues are very very likely a graphic card issues with the game, or indeed the drivers. Happens with modern systems and old games. Try to play on an older PC, one with preferably WinXP installed. Or you could try double partition system. OS is usually also to blame.
@Aignur

Did you try to expermient with sound hardware accelleration in windows settings?

Nope. How would I do that?

No personal taken :) Just really want to get this kind of stuff resolved ;)

The whole point of asking for help is to bypass the need to DOWNGRADE your system :P I've tried just about everything I can think of and nothing works... Yet.

Google it.
@Aignur

Run file dxdiag.exe (in WinXp it's location is C:\WINNT\system32\). It's on Sound or Music TAB
Man, I was really hoping we wouldn't be seeing these threads with GOG out of Beta. This needs to get sorted out.
They've responded to me within 24 hours lately on two occasions..maybe there is something to the rep theory :P

They did mention they're busy with lots of other issues so maybe you're just unlucky for time being.

Not sure though. In few questions the response was the matter of hours, sometimes they haven't wrote till today. Whimsy.

Mail them one more time if needed. It's a general rule when your first mail went to the bin before reading ;)

That's only available on XP, since you're on Win7 that's not an option.
