LoboBlanco: Well I watched a documentary about supervolcanoes once and there seems to be at least one in each continent, maybe noone would be safe from the after effects but from the initial blast, yes. In essence, that country would fly to space and the rest of us would have some time of ash in the air, but no worries :P
