Aviadmd: Not SUPER but still great :
Original Meat Boy -http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/463241
I'd been hearing about this Super Meat Boy game a lot, lately. I just tried the flash game about an hour ago. It's not bad, it's basically a bloodier version of N. I'm taking it Super Meat Boy must be like a bloodier version of N+, then? :P

Sort of, but I think Super Meat Boy is much harder and much longer than N+. There's over 200 levels, plenty of awesome indie game characters to unlock, hilarious cutscenes (watch the Giant Bomb Quick Look to see what I'm talking about) and more devilish platforming than you can shake a stick at.

Plus, after you earn 20 bandages (no small feat), you unlock Teh Internets, a section that Team Meat uses to add more levels without any DLC packs.

Well, yeah. Meat Boy seemed to have a lot more mechanics than N and N+, so I imagine Super Meat Boy is even more complicated than that. I was a fan of the N games. I'm not too keen on indie games, having played more than my fair share, and being among the 0.5% who didn't seem to be thoroughly enthralled by World of Goo... but I'm a big platformer buff.

So, this sale is going on until November, but it doesn't hit the PC until that time. :/

I immediately checked the Steam site to see the sale for myself, and like VirtualPenguin, wound up disappointed. I'll have get around to watching some of the videos (I'd only seen that faux retro commercial a day or two ago, and had been hearing the name, likely for months now, but it never really captivated me).

It'd be a dick move not to have a launch sale on the PC as well, but we'll have to wait and see.
I keep seeing this pop up on Live, will try the demo when I can get back to gaming in a week or two. Seriously, Fable III and TFU2 are coming in the mail on the 25th and I haven't touched Castlevannia yet (came on the 5th). I feel like crying.

Good to see so many Indie guys get a good distribution out there. There's a great looking title coming out on PSN (I don't have a PS3, I will miss playing this one) called Hoard. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/06/07/hoard-ps3-and-psp-dragon-combat-hits-psn-this-september/

Guess it's out actually, looked pretty fun at PAX.
What's so great about the new Super Meat Boy game? I played a few levels of the original Flash game and it doesn't seem particularly good. In fact, it feels gimmicky with all the blood spatter. Am I missing something?

Detlik: is there a chance i will be able to preorder it now for pc?
No, pre-orders would still technically be selling the game, which they can't do until the one month of X360 exclusivity is up.

Yes.
1. The levels are 10x harder
2. Art style, music and controls are amazing
3. Huge amount of levels, with more being added FREE
4. Awesome cutscenes
5. Of course there's blood splatter, he's a slab of uncooked meat.
6. Only $10 ($15 in November when it launches on PC)

If you read the creator's FAQ, they specifically say that the Flash game was only their beta of the now-finished product.
bought this today, and i love it, so fun and so addictive
