Really, just think about it. Games like Doom and Wolfenstein 3D pretty much started the FPS genre, wouldn't it be great if you could buy these games on GOG.com? Just a thought.
I believe that ID software still sells its entire back catalogue on its own website, and for rather inflated prices (a while back I was searching for them, and I remember finding ID's webpage, raising a few eyebrows at the prices, and deciding that I didn't need them). This makes it sadly unlikely that GOG will manage to get them at reasonable prices.
They sell most their games on Steam, but the prices are pretty high.

The Ultimate DOOM is $10 alone.

Still, GOG needs to get their hands on them. Something I really want to see.

Raven Software too.

Well, the steam versions are decently priced, maybe a little high, but still reasonable. So they could easily sell them here.

Whoa, thanks! I don't think anyone would have thought of that if you hadn't come along and mentioned it.

This is just a hunch, but I have the strong feeling that this may very well be sarcasm, seeing as how id Software would be a very obvious addition...

Pretty high? Their prices are outrageous. I highly doubt anybody ever buys their games at the normal price. I got the id Super Pack during the last holiday sale for about $25. That should be the normal price. I don't mind if they never put it on sale, but barely anyone is going to buy the pack for $70 throughout the year. I mean, they still want $20 for Quake III, when you can find a boxed Quake III Gold for half that, or better yet, just play Quake Live.

Your sarcasm detector is indeed functioning normally.

Given how most of GOG's business in the early days was defined by researching current rights holders for all the classics of yesteryear, I think it's safe to assume that they've been in contact with id before now, yeah.

Oh, and welcome back to the realms of positive rep.
Ask Zenimax, since they own iD now. (Also has the benefit of bringing Bethesda on board for some Elder Scrolls goodness).

id's self published titles on Steam weren't affected by their move to Zenimax. In fact, it seemed to bring Bethesda to Steam as well.

Could id strike a deal with GOG independently now though? Probably not, it has to be said.
They dont seem to be interested in selling anywhere else but Steam.
The first two elder scrolls games could be put on this site as free games since you can download them from the elder scrolls website for free. And morrowind could easily be put on here for $9.99

Raven Software too.
You used be able to buy The Ultimate Doom, Doom 2 and Final Doom together on DVD for $20. I reckon they could be sold on GoG in two $10 packages, as Ultimate Doom + Doom 2; and Final Doom + Master Levels.

I don't know that id is in much of a hurry to sell their games elsewhere though, unfortunately.

But yes, Raven games are a definite must also.

AFAIK both ID and Bethesda got on Steam independently of each other before ZeniMax bought ID. I agree with the second sentence, however,
Does anyone remember how much the original ID games cost?

That's a great idea! Id really needs to strike a deal w/ GOG.com hopefully in the future.
